Pretty Little Butterfly

Crazy Town The Gift of Game ButterflyIs your memory good? I’m bringing you today the one-hit band called Crazy Town, remember them? They released their first (of only two) album in 1999 and they toured supporting the Red Hot Chili Peppers . One year after they released the single “Butterfly“, which samples part of Chili PeppersPretty Little Ditty (by then a 10-year old song, from the album Mother’s Milk, the first with Frusciante). Butterfly was a great hit in the U.S, in Canada, and in most European countries.

I bring you both songs today, as I like them both – Butterfly as a childhood memory (The Gift of Game was actually one of my first CD’s!) and Pretty Little Ditty as a great song from the great Frusciante and Flea 😉

Starting with the oldest (notice Flea at 0:14)

And finishing with the most recent

Runaway

Today I’ll bring you another classic from the 60’s (I am not sure, but I must have brought some before :P).

Del Shannon RunawayI got to know today’s song by listening to a Frusciante’s (my guitar idol, if you remember) cover. By the way, if you like John, this concert is a nice one to listen to! 😉

But well, after getting to know Frusciante‘s cover, I decided to listen to the most known version (I thought it was the original until 20 seconds ago), from a guy called Del Shannon, and it became a hit to me, being a top played and performed song – quite funny to play on the guitar and sing, I think.

Hope you like it too and that you go along singing the “wah-wah-wah-wah” part 😛

You can also check Elvis Presley‘s and Kasabian’s versions, if you will.
