Another Ennio Morricone song, this time from one of the many western soundtracks he wrote – Il Mercenario (The Mercenary/A Professional Gun). I’ll leave you the movie scene, a traditional western duel in which this song fits perfectly!

Here you have a scene from Kill Bill Vol. 2 in which the song was also featured.

I know we’ve had too much Neil Young and I know promised to give the man a break, but it isn’t my fault! I was watching a Portuguese programme about homeless people and I recognized one of the song as being from Neil Young; I then went on finding it and I realized it is called  Philadelphia and was written for the Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington‘s film with the same name (I did not remember the song from the movie, though, despite having watched it not that long ago).

Below you have a clip from the movie but the voices are quite low, so it’s almost like listening just to the music while reminding (assuming you’ve already watched it) the movie.

Cinema Paradiso

Nuovo Cinema Paradiso Giuseppe Tornatore Ennio Morricone Love theme for NataToday I have another melody from Giuseppe Tornatore‘s Cinema Paradiso. It’s quite similar to the one Pedro posted a couple of months ago, but it’s nonetheless worth listening to. Good night!

Barbra Streisand

A famous name, right? If nothing else, at least due to Duck Sauce and their “Barbra Streisand”.

Barbra Streisand & Barry Gibbs

I must admit her music was almost completely unknown to me, too, until a couple of weeks ago. I only knew Barbra Streisand from her role in “Meet the Fockers“. But these last couple of weeks I have listened to some of her songs, and there was one that stood as my soundtrack for this week – Woman in Love. This song has the particularity of having been written by Barry Gibb, from Bee Gees, as well as the rest of the album. But the credit of the powerful and melodic voice must be given to Barbra, of course!

Hope you’re one of the women in love, or that you’re the reason for one woman being in love 🙂

PS – if you like terrible songs, you can always listen to the assassinated version of the song.
